About Mysterious Treasures
What Mysterious Treasures is
Mysterious Treasures is the second main expansion of the Diamond & Pearl Series, released in English on August 22, 2007 and built from the Japanese Secret of the Lakes of March 2, 2007. It has 123 cards in the numbered set plus one secret rare, the Trainer Time Space Distortion 124, with 18 holofoil rares from Aggron 1 to Uxie 18 and three Pokémon LV.X: Electivire LV.X 121, Lucario LV.X 122 and Magmortar LV.X 123.
The set is based on Pokémon Diamond and Pearl and features the lake guardians Uxie 18, Mesprit 14 and Azelf 4 alongside Generation IV Pokémon and returning Johto starters such as Typhlosion 16, Feraligatr 8 and Meganium 13. It introduced Pokémon that come with held items, whose effect stays active whenever the Pokémon is in play, and its promotional blurb pointed to new Fossils and Pokémon with Berries.
What makes Mysterious Treasures different
- Time Space Distortion The set's only secret rare is a Trainer, Time Space Distortion 124, and it ranks second in the whole set in PSA 10, between Magmortar LV.X 123 and Lucario LV.X 122.
- The Typhlosion holo Typhlosion 16 ranks fourth in the set as a reverse holo and fifth in its regular holofoil print, ahead of the lake guardians Azelf 4 and Uxie 18 and the Celebi 7 holo.
- Countdown Calendar stamps Eight cards, including Abomasnow 19, Gabite 48 and Shinx 98, exist with a gold snowflake stamp exclusive to the Pokémon Countdown Calendar, and Happiny 52 and Pikachu 94 carry a Burger King Collection 2008 stamp.
How Mysterious Treasures arrived
Secret of the Lakes released in Japan on March 2, 2007, and the English Mysterious Treasures followed on August 22, 2007, thirteen weeks after Diamond & Pearl on May 23, 2007, with North American Prerelease events across the weekends of August 11 to 26 and Gabite 48 as the Prerelease promo. It launched with the Armor Fortress and Skull Charge Theme Decks, built on the Japanese Bastiodon the Defender and Rampardos the Attacker Half Decks, and blisters with Shieldon, Cranidos and Buneary promos followed in September 2007.
Mysterious Treasures products
Mysterious Treasures was sold in booster packs, booster boxes, two Theme Decks and blisters. The sealed table above tracks boxes, packs and blisters.
Collecting and grading Mysterious Treasures
Magmortar LV.X 123 leads the set in PSA 10, with Time Space Distortion 124 and Lucario LV.X 122 behind it, then Typhlosion 16 in both prints, Azelf 4, Celebi 7, the reverse holo Gyarados 26, Uxie 18 and the reverse holo Raichu 15. The live chase list above ranks every tracked card by PSA 10 value.
Diamond & Pearl era holofoils and reverse holos show print lines and edge wear readily, so PSA 10 copies of the LV.X cards and the top holos are scarce and carry a very wide premium over PSA 9. Holo and reverse holo prints, the Cosmos Holofoil Theme Deck cards and the stamped versions are graded and priced separately. Sealed Mysterious Treasures is scarce, and the sealed table above tracks what boxes, packs and blisters trade for today.
