About Inferno X
What Inferno X is
Inferno X is the second expansion of the Japanese MEGA Series, released on September 26, 2025 under the set code M2. It has 80 cards in the numbered set plus 36 secret rares, 116 in total, and every card carries the I regulation mark. Its cards reached English collectors in Phantasmal Flames, released on November 14, 2025.
The set continues the Mega Evolution Pokémon ex of the MEGA Series with Mega Charizard X ex 13 as its central Pokémon, and it leans on Fire and Darkness types for its supporting Pokémon and Trainers, with Blowtorch 74, Firebreather 78 and Grimsley's Move 76 among them. The numbered set holds 8 Pokémon ex, four of them Mega Evolutions: Mega Heracross ex 4, Mega Charizard X ex 13, Mega Sharpedo ex 51 and Mega Lopunny ex 72, joined by Oricorio ex 18, Rotom ex 29, Mismagius ex 36 and Empoleon ex 58.
The secret rares from 81 to 116 hold 12 illustration rares, 17 full art ultra rares, 6 special illustration rares and the Mega Hyper Rare Mega Charizard X ex 116, and Mega Charizard X ex appears in four prints in all: the regular 13, the full art 94, the special illustration rare 110 and the Mega Hyper Rare 116.

- Fire and Darkness The set builds its support around Fire and Darkness, from the Charmander line and Moltres to Mega Sharpedo ex, Weavile and Krookodile, with Blowtorch, Firebreather and Grimsley's Move as the Trainers that back them.
- The Dawn special illustration rare Dawn 115 is the set's special illustration rare Supporter, and both it and the full art Dawn 106 rank in the set's top fifteen in PSA 10.
- Illustration rares that grade Piplup 85 leads the set's twelve illustration rares in PSA 10, and the regular Duraludon 62, Charmeleon 12, Charmander 11 and Zacian 39 also reach the top ten despite costing very little raw.

How Inferno X arrived
Inferno X released in Japan on September 26, 2025, eight weeks after the Mega Brave and Mega Symphonia pair on August 1, 2025 that opened the MEGA Series and nine weeks before the Mega Dream ex high class pack on November 28, 2025. A Traditional Chinese edition followed on October 9, 2025 and a Korean edition on November 28, 2025.
It was sold in five card packs and 30 pack boxes, and its cards were folded into the English Phantasmal Flames on November 14, 2025, which is where English collectors know Mega Charizard X ex, Mega Sharpedo ex and Mega Lopunny ex from.
With a release only a year old, the Inferno X market is still settling, and the live chase list above will shift as more copies are graded.
