Mega Symphonia

What Mega Symphonia is

Mega Symphonia is one half of the first expansion of the Japanese MEGA era, released on August 1, 2025 alongside its paired set Mega Brave under the set code M1S. It has 63 cards in the numbered set plus 29 secret rares, 92 in total, every card on the I regulation mark, and together the two sets hold 184 cards. Mega Symphonia is the Mega Gardevoir ex set, with Mega Abomasnow ex, Mega Manectric ex, Mega Latias ex and Mega Kangaskhan ex as its other Mega Evolution Pokémon ex, while Mega Brave carries Mega Lucario ex.

The two sets reintroduced Mega Evolution to the card game for the first time since the XY and Sun & Moon years, as Mega Evolution Pokémon ex worth 3 Prize cards that follow the normal stage and Evolution of the Pokémon shown, marked with a black and yellow ex symbol. Psychic is the most represented type at 19 cards, and there are no Fighting, Darkness or Metal Pokémon in Mega Symphonia at all; those belong to Mega Brave.

The secret rares run from 64 to 92: 12 Illustration rares, 11 full art Super Rares, five Special illustration rares and the gold Mega Ultra Rare Mega Gardevoir ex at 92. The cards reached English in the Mega Evolution expansion of September 26, 2025.

What makes Mega Symphonia different

• Mega Evolution returns Mega Gardevoir ex and Mega Lucario ex were the first Mega Evolution Pokémon ex, revealed in the Pokémon Presents on Pokémon Day 2025, and the two sets brought Mega Evolution back to the game after the XY and Sun & Moon eras.
• The Mega Ultra Rare A new gold etched rarity for Mega Evolution Pokémon ex. Unlike earlier gold Pokémon ex, which reused their full art artwork, the Mega Ultra Rare Mega Gardevoir ex 92 has unique art with the Pokémon in front of an elaborate circular background.
• Full art Trainers of every kind Mega Brave and Mega Symphonia were the first sets to print Item, Pokémon Tool and Stadium cards as full art Super Rares, here Buddy-Buddy Poffin 81, Rare Candy 82, Mega Signal 83 and Mystery Garden 86.
• Five card packs Each booster pack holds 5 cards and each booster box 30 packs, the Japanese standard that makes a box a much smaller commitment than an English display.
• A split roster Mega Symphonia holds the Psychic, Water and Lightning Megas and Mega Brave the Fighting, Fire, Darkness and Metal ones, so completing the Mega Evolution roster in Japanese means opening both sets.

How Mega Symphonia arrived

Mega Brave and Mega Symphonia released in Japan on August 1, 2025, two months after Black Bolt and White Flare closed the Scarlet & Violet era on June 6, 2025 and ahead of Inferno X on September 26, 2025. The Korean release followed on August 15, 2025 and the Traditional Chinese, Indonesian and Thai releases on September 26, 2025, the same day the English Mega Evolution expansion combined both sets for Western players.

The Traditional Chinese markets received a new product, the 10-Pack Set Plus, with 5 Mega Brave and 5 Mega Symphonia packs, a deck case and a promo pack holding one of three holofoil trios with matching Basic Energy: Bulbasaur, Ivysaur and Celebi; Abra, Ralts and Kirlia; or Makuhita, Riolu and Marshadow.

Mega Symphonia products

Mega Symphonia was sold in booster packs of 5 cards and booster boxes of 30 packs, and the sealed table above tracks both. The Premium Trainer Box MEGA, tracked under Mega Brave, launched the era's accessories alongside the two sets.

Collecting and grading Mega Symphonia

The Mega Ultra Rare Mega Gardevoir ex 92 is the card the set is built around and it leads the live prices above by a wide margin, with Raita Kazama's Special illustration rare Mega Gardevoir ex 87 second. AKIRA EGAWA's Mega Latias ex 88, sui's Acerola's Mischief 90 and GOTO minori's Mega Kangaskhan ex 89 complete the Special illustration rare tier, and the full art Mega Gardevoir ex 78 and Acerola's Mischief 84 follow.

Several ordinary cards, Abra 36, Heliolisk 35, Clauncher 19 and Raikou 30, show high PSA 10 prices against raw copies worth a dollar or two. Those are thin market numbers from a young set and should not guide a submission. Aya Kusube's Illustration rare Alakazam 71 and OKUBO's Shuckle 64 are the Illustration rares collectors actually pursue.

Japanese print quality keeps PSA 10 rates high, so the graded premium sits on the Mega Gardevoir ex prints. Sealed boxes of 30 five card packs are inexpensive relative to English displays, and the sealed table above tracks what they trade for today.
