About Trick or Trade 2022
What Trick or Trade 2022 is
Trick or Trade 2022 is a set of 30 cards first released on September 1, 2022 as the Trick or Trade BOOster Bundle, a multipack of 40 mini booster packs with three cards each, designed as an alternative to candy for Halloween trick-or-treaters. The 30 cards are Pokémon associated with Halloween and its traditional macabre symbols, selected from nine Sword & Shield expansions from Rebel Clash through Astral Radiance.
Every card keeps its original set number and set symbol, so the set runs from Trevenant 15 of Rebel Clash to Darkrai 105 of Darkness Ablaze, and each carries a Pikachu jack-o'-lantern stamp in the bottom right corner of the artwork. Ten are holofoil rares, among them Gengar 57 and Hatterene 73 from Chilling Reign, Mewtwo 56 and Dusknoir 62 from Brilliant Stars and Mismagius 59 from Astral Radiance, with six uncommons and 14 commons beside them.
What makes Trick or Trade 2022 different
- Commons at the top Cubone 69, Gastly 55 and Misdreavus 58 are commons worth very little raw, yet they rank second, third and fifth in the set in PSA 10, close behind the Gengar 57 holo.
- Stamped reprints Because each card is a reprint with a jack-o'-lantern stamp rather than a new print, the stamp is the only thing separating a Trick or Trade card from its original, and graders label them as their own set.
- Three card mini packs The cards came only in the 40 pack BOOster Bundle and its 120 pack version, so there are no booster boxes, and the mini packs themselves trade as sealed collectibles.
How Trick or Trade 2022 arrived
The Trick or Trade BOOster Bundle released on September 1, 2022, four weeks after the McDonald's Collection 2022 on August 3, 2022 and eight days before Lost Origin on September 9, 2022, timed for the Halloween shopping season. It was the first of the Trick or Trade releases, and later Halloween bundles followed the same pattern of stamped reprints in three card mini packs.

Collecting and grading Trick or Trade 2022
The Gengar 57 holo leads the set in PSA 10, with Cubone 69, Gastly 55, the Mewtwo 56 holo and Misdreavus 58 behind it, then the Darkrai 105 holo, Mimikyu 81, Haunter 56, the Dusknoir 62 holo and Pikachu 49. The live chase list above ranks every tracked card by PSA 10 value.
Raw copies cost very little, so the value of the set sits almost entirely in PSA 10 grades, where the gap over PSA 9 is very wide because mini pack cards were handled loosely and few were graded. A complete stamped set of 30 is an inexpensive project raw and a demanding one in PSA 10.
