About McDonald's Collection 2022
What McDonald's Collection 2022 is
McDonald's Collection 2022 introduced the Match Battle format. Happy Meals came with a four card pack and a toy, either a plastic or cardboard spinner and coin or a book. Two players each pick a card and compare a stat chosen by the spinner, HP, height, weight, Pokédex number or set number, with the coin deciding whether higher or lower wins, best three out of five. Each pack held one Confetti Holofoil card and three non holo cards, and only six of the 15 cards exist in holofoil: Rowlet, Gossifleur, Growlithe, Victini, Pikachu and Smeargle. The promotion started in the United States on August 3, 2022 and reached the UK the following year.
What makes McDonald's Collection 2022 different
- A card game inside the Happy Meal Match Battle turned the cards into a stat comparison game with a spinner and coin, a format the following year's set repeated.
- Six holos out of 15 Only Rowlet, Gossifleur, Growlithe, Victini, Pikachu and Smeargle come in Confetti Holofoil, so the holo run is the short set collectors chase.
