Prismatic Evolutions

What Prismatic Evolutions is

Prismatic Evolutions is the fourth special expansion of the Scarlet & Violet Series, released in English on January 17, 2025 under the set code PRE. It has 131 cards in the numbered set plus 49 secret rares, for 180 cards in total, and it is built around Eevee and the Eeveelutions, which appear here as Stellar Tera Pokémon ex for the first time. Most of the cards come from the Japanese Terastal Festival ex subset, with the rest from the Generations Start Decks.

The checklist holds 15 Tera Pokémon ex and ten further Pokémon ex, six ACE SPEC Trainer cards and 12 Ultra rare Supporters, then a secret rare run of 32 Special illustration rares (26 Pokémon ex and six Supporters) and five gold etched Hyper rare Pokémon ex. That is an unusually deep Special illustration rare section for a set of this size, and it is the reason a Prismatic Evolutions master set is one of the hardest modern builds.

As a special expansion, Prismatic Evolutions had no standalone booster display box. Packs came through Elite Trainer Boxes, tins, collections, blisters and bundles, and the demand that followed made the set one of the most talked about releases of the Scarlet & Violet era. Cards carry the H regulation mark, with 29 reprinted G mark cards mixed in.

What makes Prismatic Evolutions different

• Master Ball and Poké Ball pattern foils Alongside the regular reverse holofoil, common, uncommon and rare Pokémon cards exist in two parallel patterns with a Poké Ball or a Master Ball etched into the background. Trainer cards get the regular and Poké Ball patterns only. The Master Ball versions of Umbreon 59, Vaporeon 22 and the other Eeveelutions are chase cards in their own right.
• Nine Eeveelution Special illustration rares Eevee ex 167 and all eight Eeveelutions (Leafeon 144, Flareon 146, Vaporeon 149, Glaceon 150, Jolteon 153, Espeon 155, Sylveon 156 and Umbreon 161) have Special illustration rare prints, each by a different illustrator, and together they form the set's identity.
• 32 Special illustration rares Beyond the Eeveelutions, the run includes the four Ogerpon masks, the Paradox Pokémon ex (Iron Hands, Iron Valiant, Iron Crown, Sandy Shocks, Roaring Moon and Raging Bolt), Terapagos ex, Bloodmoon Ursaluna ex and six Supporters including Janine's Secret Art and Kieran.
• Six ACE SPEC cards in a small set Max Rod, Maximum Belt, Prime Catcher, Scoop Up Cyclone, Sparkling Crystal and Treasure Tracker all appear inside the 131 card main numbering.
• Five gold Pokémon ex Iron Leaves ex 176, Teal Mask Ogerpon ex 177, Walking Wake ex 178, Pikachu ex 179 and Terapagos ex 180 are the Hyper rares, with no gold Trainers or Energy in this set.
• Stamped Eeveelution ex cards The Surprise Box released one of nine Pokémon ex (Leafeon 6, Flareon 14, Vaporeon 23, Glaceon 26, Jolteon 30, Espeon 34, Sylveon 41, Umbreon 60 or Eevee 75) with an exclusive set logo stamp, the Costco 8 Tin Bundle carried cosmos holofoil Eeveelutions, and Eevee 74 exists with a Pokémon Day 2025 stamp from the Two Pack Blister.

How Prismatic Evolutions arrived

Japan released Terastal Festival ex on December 6, 2024, and the English special expansion followed six weeks later on January 17, 2025, between the 2024 McDonald's Collection and the Play! Pokémon Prize Pack Series Six.

The first wave on release day was the Elite Trainer Box, the Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box, the Poster Collection with cosmos holofoil Flareon, Jolteon and Vaporeon promos, the Binder Collection with four packs and a 360 card binder, and three Tech Sticker Collections featuring Glaceon, Leafeon and Sylveon. The second wave on February 7, 2025 added eight Mini Tins, one per Eeveelution, and the Surprise Box with its logo stamped Pokémon ex. The Two Pack Blister with the Pokémon Day 2025 stamped Eevee followed on February 21, 2025.

Supply kept arriving through the spring: the six pack Booster Bundle on March 7, 2025, the Accessory Pouch Special Collection on April 25, 2025, the Super Premium Collection with 15 packs and an Eevee ex promo on May 16, 2025, and Costco 2 Pack bundles pairing an Elite Trainer Box with a Booster Bundle from early June 2025. The sealed table below shows where each of those products trades today.

Prismatic Evolutions products and what came in them

The Elite Trainer Box holds nine booster packs, 65 card sleeves, 45 basic Energy cards, a player's guide, six damage counter dice, a competition legal coin flip die, two plastic condition markers, four dividers, a Pokémon TCG Live code card and an Illustration rare style Eevee promo (SVP Promo 173). The Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box adds two more packs and a second Eevee promo with a Pokémon Center logo stamp.

The Poster Collection carries three packs with Flareon (SVP 167), Vaporeon (SVP 168) and Jolteon (SVP 169) promos and an Eeveelution poster. The Tech Sticker Collections carry three packs each with a Leafeon (SVP 170), Glaceon (SVP 171) or Sylveon (SVP 172) promo and a large tech sticker. Each Mini Tin holds two packs, a sticker sheet and an art card; the Surprise Box holds four packs, four Eeveelution dividers and a logo stamped Pokémon ex; and the Super Premium Collection holds 15 packs, an Eevee ex promo (SVP 174), a plush Eevee deck box, a playmat and 65 sleeves.

Collecting and grading Prismatic Evolutions

Umbreon ex 161 is the card of the set and one of the defining chase cards of the Scarlet & Violet era; the live prices above show how far a PSA 10 sits above a raw copy. Sylveon ex 156, Espeon ex 155, Vaporeon ex 149, Leafeon ex 144, Glaceon ex 150, Flareon ex 146 and Jolteon ex 153 follow, and completing all nine Eeveelution Special illustration rares is the goal most collectors set themselves.

The pattern foils are the second market. A Master Ball Umbreon 59 or Vaporeon 22 is a different collectible from the regular reverse, and the cosmos holofoil Eeveelutions from the Costco tin bundle and the Pokémon Day stamped Eevee 74 are different again. Slabfolio tracks Master Ball, Poké Ball and Cosmos Holo rows separately in the checklist, so check which finish a listing shows before comparing prices; the same number can appear in four versions.

Special illustration rare textures chip at the edges and gold Hyper rares show surface marks under angled light, so inspect both before submitting. With no standalone booster box, Elite Trainer Boxes, tins and collections carry the sealed demand for this set, and the sealed table above is the honest read on what each one trades for today.
