About Raging Surf
What Raging Surf is
Raging Surf is the third Japanese subset of the Scarlet & Violet era, released as an Enhanced Expansion Pack on September 22, 2023 with the set code SV3a. It has 62 cards in the numbered set plus 30 secret cards, 92 in total, sold in five card packs, and it features Legendary and Mythical Pokémon alongside Gholdengo ex 50, with six Pokémon ex that also include Froslass ex 1, Garchomp ex 6, Tapu Koko ex 19, Hoopa ex 29 and Bombirdier ex 51. Most of its cards reached English inside Paradox Rift, with the rest in Paldean Fates.
The subset continued the type shifted Tera Pokémon ex and reintroduced Technical Machine cards, last seen in Rising Rivals, as Pokémon Tools. It was designed for Sealed format tournaments, so it reprints staples such as Switch and Rare Candy. The 30 secrets run from 63 to 92: twelve art rares from Snorunt 63 to Cyclizar 74, full arts from 75 to 84, the special art rares Garchomp ex 85, Tapu Koko ex 86, Gholdengo ex 87, Rika 88 and Parasol Lady 89 and the gold Garchomp ex 90, Beach Court 91 and Reversal Energy 92.

How Raging Surf arrived
Raging Surf released in Japan on September 22, 2023, eight weeks after Ruler of the Black Flame on July 28, 2023 and five weeks before Ancient Roar and Future Flash on October 27, 2023. Localized releases came in Traditional Chinese on September 29, 2023, Korean on October 13, 2023 and Thai on October 27, 2023, and most of its cards reached English inside Paradox Rift.
