About Future Flash
What Future Flash is
Future Flash is one half of the fourth Japanese expansion block of the Scarlet & Violet era, released on October 27, 2023 with the set code SV4M alongside its partner set Ancient Roar. It has 66 cards in the numbered set plus 29 secret cards, 95 in total, and it carries the Future side of the block, with Iron Valiant ex 38 and Iron Hands ex 27 among six Pokémon ex that also include Altaria ex 46 and Maushold ex 57. Together with the Raging Surf subset and the Terastal Starter Sets they became the English Paradox Rift of November 3, 2023.
The block introduced Ancient and Future card variants, marked by an icon in the top right of the artwork and a distinct background: pixels for Future cards, layered strata for Ancient cards. Future Flash has no Darkness Pokémon. Its 29 secrets run from 67 to 95: twelve art rares from Rabsca 67 to Iron Jugulis 78, full arts from 79 to 87, the special art rares from Iron Hands ex 88 to Tulip 92 and the gold Iron Valiant ex 93, Counter Catcher 94 and Basic Metal Energy 95.
What makes Future Flash different
- Altaria and Maushold The special art rare Altaria ex 90 by Jiro Sasumo and the full art Maushold ex 84 are the two most valuable Pokémon ex prints in the set in PSA 10, ahead of every Iron Valiant ex.
- Iron Valiant in four prints Iron Valiant ex appears as a double rare at 38, a full art at 80, a special art rare at 89 by kantaro and a gold card at 93, and the special art rare ranks in the set's top four.
- Art rares of the Future The art rare run mixes Future Paradox Pokémon with ordinary ones, and Swablu 76, Steelix 74 and Aipom 75 all sit in the set's top eight in PSA 10.
How Future Flash arrived
Future Flash and Ancient Roar released in Japan on October 27, 2023, five weeks after the Raging Surf subset on September 22, 2023 and five weeks before Shiny Treasure ex on December 1, 2023. The English Paradox Rift followed on November 3, 2023, with Traditional Chinese on November 10, 2023 and Thai on December 15, 2023.
Future Flash products
Future Flash was sold in Japanese booster packs and booster boxes, separately from Ancient Roar. The sealed table above tracks both.
Collecting and grading Future Flash
The regular Chien-Pao 21 leads the chase list in PSA 10, with the special art rare Altaria ex 90 and the full art Maushold ex 84 behind it, then the special art rare Iron Valiant ex 89, the Swablu 76, Steelix 74, Aipom 75 and Porygon-Z 77 art rares and the full art Roark 85. The live chase list above ranks every tracked card by PSA 10 value.
Japanese print quality keeps PSA 10 rates high, so graded premiums are modest and concentrate on the special art rares, while regular cards such as Chien-Pao 21 and Blitzle 23 cost little raw but reach the top fifteen graded. Sealed Future Flash remains obtainable, and the sealed table above tracks what boxes and packs trade for today.
