What Abyss Eye is

It has 81 cards in the numbered set plus 37 secret rares, 118 in total, and every card carries the J regulation mark. It is the first set based on the Mega Dimension DLC for Pokémon Legends: Z-A, continuing the Mega Evolution Pokémon ex and Trainer cards drawn from the game, with Mega Darkrai ex as its central Pokémon.

The set holds 8 Pokémon ex: four Mega Evolution ex in Mega Zeraora ex 26, Mega Chandelure ex 36, Mega Darkrai ex 46 and Mega Excadrill ex 63, and Lurantis ex, Wailord ex, Rampardos ex and Morpeko ex. Its secret rares run from 82 to 118: 12 illustration rares, 18 ultra rares covering the eight ex and ten Trainers from Iron Defender to Gwynn, 6 special illustration rares for Mega Zeraora ex, Mega Chandelure ex, Mega Darkrai ex, Morpeko ex, Gladion's Final Battle and Gwynn, and the Mega Hyper Rare Mega Darkrai ex at 118.

What makes Abyss Eye different

• Mega Darkrai ex in four prints The set's central Pokémon appears as the regular Mega Darkrai ex at 46, the full art at 99, the special illustration rare at 114 and the Mega Hyper Rare at 118, and the two secret prints are the two most valuable cards in the set.
• The Mega Dimension Abyss Eye is the first set built on the Mega Dimension DLC for Pokémon Legends: Z-A, bringing its Mega Evolutions and Trainers such as Gwynn and the Rust Syndicate Grunt into the card game.
• Revealed on a new moon The set was first shown to the public on April 17, 2026, the date of a new moon, chosen because Darkrai is said to be active when the moon is dark.
• The Gwynn cards Gwynn appears as a full art ultra rare at 111 and a special illustration rare by Naoki Saito at 117, and the special illustration rare ranks among the set's top cards alongside the Mega ex prints.
• Misty and Gladion Misty's Vitality and Gladion's Final Battle bring two familiar Trainers into the Mega era, with a full art Misty's Vitality at 108 and Gladion's Final Battle in full art and special illustration rare prints at 109 and 116.

How Abyss Eye arrived

Abyss Eye released in Japan on May 22, 2026, ten weeks after Ninja Spinner on March 13, 2026 and ten weeks before Storm Emeralda on July 31, 2026. Localized releases followed on June 5, 2026 and June 26, 2026, and the English Pitch Black, which includes the Abyss Eye cards, released on July 17, 2026.

The set opened the Mega Dimension chapter of the MEGA Series and carried the era's Mega Evolution Pokémon ex forward with Zeraora, Chandelure, Darkrai and Excadrill, while the Mega Hyper Rare slot went to the set's central Pokémon.

With Storm Emeralda following on July 31, 2026, Abyss Eye sits in the middle of a busy year for the Japanese game.

Collecting and grading Abyss Eye

The Mega Hyper Rare Mega Darkrai ex 118 leads the set, with the special illustration rare Mega Darkrai ex 114 second, then the special illustration rare Morpeko ex 115, the full art Misty's Vitality 108, the special illustration rare Mega Zeraora ex 112 and Gwynn 117, the full art Mega Chandelure ex 97 and Gladion's Final Battle 109 and the special illustration rare Mega Chandelure ex 113. The live chase list above ranks every tracked card by PSA 10 value.

Japanese print quality keeps PSA 10 rates high, so graded premiums are modest across most of the set and concentrate on the two secret Mega Darkrai ex prints. The set is recent, so its market is still settling as Pitch Black spreads the same cards to English collectors.

Sealed Abyss Eye remains widely available, and the sealed table above tracks what boxes and packs trade for today.
