About EX Sandstorm
What EX Sandstorm is
EX Sandstorm is the second main expansion of the EX Series, released in English on September 18, 2003. It has 100 cards and no secret rares: 14 holofoil rares, seven Pokémon-ex from Aerodactyl ex 94 to Wailord ex 100, and rares, uncommons and commons built around Generation III Pokémon. It is built from the Japanese Miracle of the Desert, the second ADV era expansion, released on April 18, 2003 with 53 cards. EX Sandstorm was the first Pokémon USA expansion with an affiliated Prerelease promo, a stamped Armaldo 1, and sanctioned Prerelease events have run before nearly every expansion since. A run of cards without the e-Reader code was also printed for the EX Battle Stadium product.
What makes EX Sandstorm different
- Wailord ex and Gardevoir ex Wailord ex 100, the card that closes the set, is the most valuable card in the set in PSA 10, with Gardevoir ex 96 second and Raichu ex 98 fourth.
- Reverse holofoils The reverse holofoil Pichu 20 ranks third in PSA 10, and the reverse holofoil Umbreon 24, Eevee 63, Pikachu 72, Psyduck 73 and Jolteon 6 all reach the top twelve.
