About McDonald's Collection 2014
What McDonald's Collection 2014 is
McDonald's Collection 2014 brought the Kalos region to Happy Meals. The cards first appeared in France in a promotion that started April 2, 2014, reached North America from May 23 to June 12, and arrived in Australia and New Zealand from late August into September. Its 12 cards are reprints from the Kalos Starter Set and the XY expansion with a new set symbol and numbering, and 12 different toys came with the promotion, each packed with one card at random.
What makes McDonald's Collection 2014 different
- Kalos starters plus Pikachu Chespin, Fennekin and Froakie sit at the front of the checklist with Pikachu, so the set covers the four Pokémon every new player of 2014 was looking for.
- Random card with each toy Unlike earlier years, the 12 toys and 12 cards were not paired, so completing the checklist took more visits than the toy lineup suggested.
Collecting and grading McDonald's Collection 2014
Pikachu leads the hub, followed by Weedle, Fennekin, Froakie, Swirlix and Honedge, with Furfrou, Chespin, Fletchling, Inkay, Bunnelby and Snubbull completing the set. The hub tracks no sealed rows. Clean copies of Pikachu and the three Kalos starters are the cards worth keeping, since meal toys rarely survived without scuffs.
