Furious Fists

What Furious Fists is

Furious Fists is the third main expansion of the XY Series, released in English on August 13, 2014. It has 111 cards in the numbered set plus 2 secret rares, 113 in total, and a 55a alternate art M Lucario EX from the Mega Powers Collection is tracked alongside them. In Japan it was released as Rising Fist on June 14, 2014 with 105 cards, the third expansion of the XY Era.

The set is built around Fighting types and the Aura Pokémon Lucario, with Lucario EX 54 and M Lucario EX 55 at its center, Hawlucha EX 64 alongside them and new Trainer cards made to power up Fighting Pokémon, Korrina among them. Fighting is the deepest type in the set by a wide margin. Seven Pokémon-EX sit in the numbered set: Heracross EX 4, M Heracross EX 5, Seismitoad EX 20, Lucario EX 54, M Lucario EX 55, Hawlucha EX 64 and Dragonite EX 74.

The full arts run from 105 to 111 with Heracross EX, Seismitoad EX, Lucario EX and Dragonite EX followed by the Trainers Battle Reporter, Fossil Researcher and Korrina, and the two secret rares are the gold M Heracross EX 112 and M Lucario EX 113.

What makes Furious Fists different

• The secret rare M Lucario EX M Lucario EX 113 is the most valuable card in the set in PSA 10, and the set's mascot appears in three prints: the regular 55, the alternate art 55a from the Mega Powers Collection and the secret rare 113.
• The Korrina full art Korrina 111 is the second most valuable card in the set and one of the most collected full art Supporters of the XY Series, ahead of every Pokémon-EX except the secret rare M Lucario EX.
• Full art Trainers Three Trainers have full art prints at 109 to 111, Battle Reporter, Fossil Researcher and Korrina, and Battle Reporter 109 joins Korrina in the set's top ten in PSA 10.
• Promo prints as chase cards The Cosmos Holofoil Tyrunt 61 from the Ancient Power Box ranks fifth in the set in PSA 10, and Torchic 12, a common, ranks in the top ten in both its regular print and its City Championships promo.
• The first Launch Kit Furious Fists introduced the Launch Kit, a shop product with 72 booster packs, four copies of each Theme Deck and a sealed pack of 16 Trevenant and Slurpuff promos, priced for stores rather than individual buyers.

How Furious Fists arrived

Rising Fist released in Japan on June 14, 2014, and the English Furious Fists followed on August 13, 2014, twelve weeks after the McDonald's Collection 2014 on May 23, 2014 and twelve weeks before Phantom Forces on November 5, 2014. It followed the Wild Blaze block and preceded Phantom Gate in Japan.

The set released with the Dark Hammer and Enchanted Echo Theme Decks, built around Pangoro and Sylveon, the fourth Elite Trainer Box and blisters carrying Cosmos Holofoil Trevenant, Slurpuff and Gogoat XY Promos or a Cosmos Holofoil Zoroark from Legendary Treasures. In September 2014 a pair of Two Pack Blisters added six Cosmos Holofoil promos from Boundaries Crossed.

Torchic 12, Combusken 13 and Blaziken 14 were later handed out as Crosshatch Holofoil championship promos in the 2014 to 2015 season.

The regular Dragonite EX 74, the reverse holofoil Blaziken 14, the City Championships Torchic 12, the reverse holofoil Glaceon 19 and the regular M Lucario EX 55 complete the top fifteen. The live chase list above ranks every tracked card by PSA 10 value.

PSA 10 copies of M Lucario EX 113 and Korrina 111 carry a very wide premium over PSA 9, and Torchic 12 is the set's surprise: a common that costs almost nothing raw and grades into the top ten.

Sealed Furious Fists is scarce, and the sealed table above tracks what boxes, packs, Elite Trainer Boxes and blisters trade for today.
