About McDonald's Collection 2012
What McDonald's Collection 2012 is
McDonald's Collection 2012 was handed out in North American McDonald's Happy Meals in 2012 from June 15 to July 5. Its 12 cards are reprints from the Black & White, Emerging Powers and Noble Victories expansions, given a new set symbol and numbering. Six toys came with the promotion, based on Pikachu, Servine, Pignite, Dewott, Woobat and Axew, and each toy came with one card. The set continued the pattern set a year earlier, offering young players a small Unova checklist that could be completed over a few visits.
What makes McDonald's Collection 2012 different
- Reprints, not new cards Unlike the first McDonald's set with its Sugimori artwork, the 2012 cards reuse artwork and text from three Black & White series expansions, so only the set symbol and number mark them as McDonald's cards.
- Middle stage starters Servine, Pignite and Dewott, the second stage Unova starters, anchor the set and match three of the six toys.
Collecting and grading McDonald's Collection 2012
Scraggy leads the hub, followed by Axew, Dewott, Emolga, Purrloin and Woobat, with Dwebble, Pignite, Servine, Drilbur, Klang and Pansage completing the 12. The hub tracks no sealed rows. Because the cards came loose with a toy, most copies show handling wear, and the value sits in clean copies of Scraggy, Axew and the three starters rather than in the checklist itself.
