About ADV Expansion Pack
What ADV Expansion Pack is
The ADV Expansion Pack, sold in Japan simply as Expansion Pack, is the first expansion of the Japanese ADV era, released on January 31, 2003 as the original print of the English EX Ruby & Sapphire of June 18, 2003. It has 55 cards: 14 holofoil rares, 11 rares, 13 uncommons, 12 commons and five Pokémon-ex, Electabuzz ex 23, Mewtwo ex 26, Hitmonchan ex 30, Chansey ex 36 and Sneasel ex 46. The set introduced Generation III Pokémon and Pokémon-ex, stronger Pokémon with holofoil borders that give up two Prize cards when Knocked Out, and a new card layout that returned the left border to normal width while keeping the thicker bottom border for the e-Reader Dot Code. The first print run carries a 1st Edition mark, and the English set grew to 109 cards.
