About 30th Celebration
What Japanese 30th Celebration is
30th Celebration is a special expansion released worldwide on the same day, September 16, 2026, as part of the Pokémon 30th Anniversary. It marks 30 years of the Pokémon Trading Card Game itself, which began in Japan with the Expansion Pack in October 1996. The Japanese set has 103 numbered cards with its secret rares running to 165, plus a separately numbered subset of 30 Pikachu rares and 12 RGB rares. Every card in the set is holofoil, Basic Energy included, and almost every card carries the Pokémon 30th Anniversary logo. The set and its products follow a day and night theme, with many cards printed as daytime and nighttime counterparts. The international 30th Celebration set combines this Japanese set with the 30th Celebration Premium Deck Set Espeon & Umbreon.
What makes Japanese 30th Celebration different
- 30 Pikachu rares Thirty Pikachu cards, each with a distinct holofoil pattern and the anniversary logo behind the card text, are numbered as their own subset of 30, and every booster pack holds one of them.
- Futuristic and RGB rares The Futuristic rare debuts here with vivid lighting and 3D Energy and Poké Ball graphics, illustrated by YOSHIROTTEN, who also drew the Basic Energy cards and the set's key visual. The same artist's RGB rares are secret cards in a highly saturated color scheme.
- The Classic Collection Thirty reprinted cards from earlier sets, from Base Set to the modern day, return with a sparkling golden border as a Classic Collection numbered from 136 to 165, from Pikachu and Charizard through Shining Celebi, Darkrai & Cresselia LEGEND, Rayquaza-EX, Mew VMAX and Arceus VSTAR.
- Day and night Daytime and nighttime versions of the same Pokémon pair up across the set, with Espeon and Umbreon as the faces of the Premium Deck Set that accompanies it.

Collecting and grading Japanese 30th Celebration
The hub checklist for the Japanese set is still being built, so the card list and chase order fill in as Slabfolio adds these cards and sales arrive. From the checklist itself, the secret rares run from 104 to 165: illustration rares from Alolan Exeggutor at 104 to Maushold at 123, the ex cards from Fuecoco ex at 124 to Salamence ex at 133, the Futuristic rare Mewtwo ex at 134 and Mew ex at 135, and the Classic Collection from 136 to 165. The 30 Pikachu rares are the long project, since one comes in every pack but completing the subset takes many packs. Because every card is holofoil, even commons show scratches under grading lights, so check surfaces before submitting.
