About EX Legend Maker
What EX Legend Maker is
EX Legend Maker is the twelfth main expansion of the EX Series, released in English on February 13, 2006. It has 92 cards in the numbered set plus one secret card, Pikachu δ 93, 93 in total: 27 commons, 26 uncommons, 15 rares, 14 holofoil rares from Aerodactyl 1 to Wailord 14, seven Pokémon-ex from Arcanine ex 83 to Walrein ex 89 and three Pokémon Star, Regice 90, Regirock 91 and Registeel 92. It is built from the Japanese Mirage Forest, the fifth PCG era expansion, released on June 30, 2005 with 86 cards.
The set is themed on the Mirage Forest, home to rare Pokémon and the elusive Mew, which appears as the Mew 10 holofoil and Mew ex 88. Its reverse holofoils use the cosmos pattern, and the set marked a break from the Delta Species expansions around it, with only the secret Pikachu carrying the δ mark.
What makes EX Legend Maker different
- Three Gold Stars Regice 90, Regirock 91 and Registeel 92 are the set's Pokémon Star, the three Legendary golems, and all three rank in the set's top five in PSA 10.
- The reverse holofoil Gengar The cosmos reverse holofoil Gengar 5 is the most valuable card in the set in PSA 10, ahead of every Gold Star, and the reverse holofoil Mew 10, Wobbuffet 28, Haunter 35 and Electrode 32 also reach the top fifteen.
- The secret Pikachu Pikachu δ 93 is the set's one secret card and a top six card in PSA 10, the only Delta Species card in an expansion otherwise free of them.
How EX Legend Maker arrived
Mirage Forest released in Japan on June 30, 2005, and the English EX Legend Maker followed on February 13, 2006, fifteen weeks after EX Delta Species on October 31, 2005 and ahead of POP Series 3 on April 1, 2006. Prerelease events used a stamped Tentacruel 45. The set launched with the Groundbreaker and Shadowquake Theme Decks, built around Golem and Gengar, and blisters followed in March 2006 with Cosmos Holofoil prints of the POP Series 1 Blaziken and Metagross alongside two EX Legend Maker packs and one EX Unseen Forces pack.
