About McDonald's Collection 2018

What McDonald's Collection 2018 is

McDonald's Collection 2018 was the first year with two separate collections. The French set ran from June 13 to July 10, 2018 with 40 cards sold in four card mini boosters, each with three non holo cards and one Confetti Holofoil, for an 80 card master set with parallel holos. The English set, tracked here, ran from October 16 to November 12, 2018 with 12 Confetti Holofoil reprints from Sun & Moon, Guardians Rising, Burning Shadows, Crimson Invasion and Ultra Prism. The English checklist is pure Kanto: Growlithe, Psyduck, Horsea, Pikachu, Slowpoke, Machop, Cubone, Magnemite, Dratini, Chansey, Eevee and Porygon.

What makes McDonald's Collection 2018 different

  • All Kanto, all holo Every English card is a first generation Pokémon in Confetti Holofoil, which makes the set a favorite of Kanto collectors despite its size.
  • The 40 card French set France received a far larger collection in mini boosters, the biggest McDonald's set to that point, with every card in regular and Confetti Holofoil form.

Collecting and grading McDonald's Collection 2018

Pikachu leads the hub, followed by Eevee, Chansey, Slowpoke, Psyduck and Porygon, with Cubone, Growlithe, Dratini, Horsea, Machop and Magnemite completing the set. No sealed rows are tracked. Confetti Holofoil scratches show under light, so clean copies of Pikachu and Eevee are the ones collectors grade.
