About World Champions Pack
What World Champions Pack is
World Champions Pack is the tenth and final expansion of the PCG era in Japan, released on July 5, 2007 with 108 cards, and it is the only PCG set to arrive during the DP era. It is the Japanese version of EX Power Keepers, which had come out in English on February 14, 2007, and it exists because Japanese players needed the same card pool for the 2007 World Championships. The set draws on Pokémon Emerald and the Hoenn Elite Four, carries Pokémon ex such as Salamence ex and Shiftry ex, and holds the three Eeveelution Gold Stars, Vaporeon, Jolteon and Flareon. It was first sold in 1st Edition through the Pokémon Card Game website and at Summer Battle Road 2007.
What makes World Champions Pack different
- English first, Japan second This is the rare case of a Japanese set that followed its English counterpart by five months, printed only so Japanese players would not be at a disadvantage at Worlds.
- Three Eeveelution Gold Stars Vaporeon, Jolteon and Flareon Gold Stars are the set's headline cards, and the Vaporeon and Jolteon lead the hub.
Collecting and grading World Champions Pack
The Vaporeon Gold Star leads the hub, followed by the Jolteon Gold Star, the 1st Edition Flareon, Charizard in both prints, Pikachu, Salamence ex, Raichu, Delcatty, Ninetales and Shiftry ex. The hub tracks no sealed rows for this set. Because the first print run was sold online and at one event, 1st Edition copies are scarce, and the Gold Stars show edge wear easily, so inspect under angled light before grading.
