About Violet ex
What Violet ex is
Violet ex is one half of the first Japanese expansion of the Scarlet & Violet era, released on January 20, 2023 with the set code SV1V alongside its partner set Scarlet ex. It has 78 cards in the numbered set plus 30 secret cards, 108 in total, and it carries the Violet side of the block with Miraidon ex 37 at its center, while Scarlet ex carries Koraidon ex. Together with the three ex Starter Sets released the same day, they became the English Scarlet & Violet of March 31, 2023.
The set introduced Pokémon ex, the first Generation IX Pokémon and the Tera mechanic on certain Pokémon ex, and it brought gray borders and expansion codes to international cards in place of yellow borders and set symbols. The 30 secrets run from 79 to 108: twelve illustration rares from Tarountula 79 to Skwovet 90, full arts from 91 to 100, the special art rares Spidops ex 101, Miraidon ex 102, Iron Treads ex 103, Arven 104 and Miriam 105, and the gold Miraidon ex 106, Rare Candy 107 and Basic Lightning Energy 108.

Triplet Beat followed on March 10, 2023, and the English Scarlet & Violet combined both sets and the Starter Sets on March 31, 2023. Localized releases came on February 3, 2023, February 24, 2023, March 3, 2023 and March 15, 2023.
