About Incandescent Arcana
What Incandescent Arcana is
Incandescent Arcana is the twelfth subset of the Japanese Sword & Shield era, an Enhanced Expansion Pack released on September 2, 2022 under the set code S11a, following the Lost Abyss expansion. It has 68 cards in the numbered set plus 26 secret rares, 94 in total, and its cards reached English collectors as part of Silver Tempest.
The theme is beautiful and strong Pokémon, with Vulpix, Reshiram and Serperior at the front. Alolan Vulpix is the focal Pokémon, appearing as Alolan Vulpix V 22 and Alolan Vulpix VSTAR 23, the first unevolved Pokémon to carry the VSTAR mechanic. The set holds three Radiant Pokémon, Radiant Tsareena 9, Radiant Alakazam 31 and Radiant Jirachi 45, six Character Rares from Braixen 69 to Altaria 74, Character Super Rares of Serperior V 84 and Mawile V 85 and full art Supporters Serena 81, Furisode Girl 82 and Wallace 83. There are no Lightning, Fighting or Darkness Pokémon, and commons and uncommons have Poké Ball pattern Mirror Holofoil variants.
What makes Incandescent Arcana different
- The Serena full art Serena 81 is the most valuable card in the set in PSA 10, ahead of every Pokémon V and VSTAR, and its English print in Silver Tempest became one of the Series' best known Supporters.
- The first Basic VSTAR Alolan Vulpix VSTAR 23 is the first VSTAR that evolves from an unevolved Pokémon, and its rainbow print at 87 ranks in the set's top fifteen.
- Mirror holofoils and commons Six card packs carry two holofoils each, and the mirror holofoil Arcanine 13 and Scizor 44 and the regular Milotic 28, Jynx 34 and Mewtwo 35 all rank in the set's top ten in PSA 10.
How Incandescent Arcana arrived
Incandescent Arcana released in Japan on September 2, 2022, seven weeks after Lost Abyss on July 15, 2022 and seven weeks before Paradigm Trigger on October 21, 2022, with localized editions on September 16, 2022, September 30, 2022, October 14, 2022 and October 28, 2022. Its cards were folded into the English Silver Tempest alongside Paradigm Trigger, which is where English collectors know Serena, Alolan Vulpix VSTAR and the Gardevoir Character Rare from.

Collecting and grading Incandescent Arcana
The full art Serena 81 leads the set in PSA 10, with the mirror holofoil Arcanine 13, Milotic 28, the Character Super Rare Serperior V 84, Ho-Oh V 55 and its full art 80, Radiant Jirachi 45, Jynx 34, Mewtwo 35 and Scizor 44 behind it. The live chase list above ranks every tracked card by PSA 10 value.
