About the DP era

The DP era brought the Sinnoh Pokémon of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl to the card game. It opened on November 30, 2006 with Space-Time Creation, sold as two collections, the 117 card Diamond Collection and the 119 card Pearl Collection, built around Dialga and Palkia. Together they became the English Diamond & Pearl set of May 23, 2007. Space-Time Creation introduced Pokémon LV.X, Level Up Pokémon that can use any attack, Poké-Power or Poké-Body from their previous level, and it moved Poison Pokémon from the Grass type to the Psychic type.

Secret of the Lakes followed on March 2, 2007 with 123 cards and the lake guardians Uxie, Mesprit and Azelf, introducing Pokémon with held items whose effects stay active while the Pokémon is in play, and it became Mysterious Treasures on August 22, 2007. Shining Darkness, on July 5, 2007 with 119 cards, revolved around the tenth movie, Dialga VS Palkia VS Darkrai, which premiered a week after the set, and became Secret Wonders on November 7, 2007.

The era then moved to paired releases. Moonlit Pursuit and Dawn Dash, 70 cards each, arrived together on October 26, 2007, and because six months passed before the next block, English players received them as two separate sets, Great Encounters drawn mostly from Moonlit Pursuit and Majestic Dawn mostly from Dawn Dash. Cry from the Mysterious and Temple of Anger, 65 cards each, released on March 14, 2008 with Heatran and Regigigas and were combined into Legends Awakened on August 20, 2008.

Intense Fight in the Destroyed Sky closed the era on July 10, 2008 with 92 cards, released in anticipation of the eleventh movie, Giratina and the Sky's Bouquet: Shaymin, which premiered nine days later. Its English version, Stormfront, added the cards of the Giratina vs Dialga Deck Kit when it released on November 5, 2008. The DP-P Promotional cards ran alongside the expansions from the start of the era, most of them reprints of cards from the main sets. The set hubs below carry every card list, the live chase prices ranked by PSA 10 value and the editorial history of each release.
